Have you been to Zoo Lights yet?
If you’ve driven up Connecticut Ave recently (my part of down) you’ll have seen that the normal Zoo entrance now has a special Zoo Lights sign–
how can you not go in with that red panda and magical light show calling you in?
The premise of Zoo Lights is pretty simple, you stroll through and get the magic of being at the zoo after hours, plus there are lights, music, hot cocoa and sleeping chimps! Most of the animals cannot be viewed, but the Amphibians, Reptiles, Insects and Monkeys are still awake.
I know we’ve posted about the National Zoo before, but this is a chance to see it in a different light (ha. ha.) and it’s only open on weekends in December so grab a friend or two and be a kid again for an hour or so:)
P.S. After just checking on the dates I realized that it says that December 14th is “Zoo do you love” night, so grab your significant other and
“Stroll through the Zoo amidst thousands of twinkling lights and festive holiday displays before visiting the Invertebrate Exhibit for exclusive access to explore the wonders of courtship and breeding behaviors belonging to some of the Zoo’s wild residents.”
